» Madame Roux a ri.

Show English translation

On Monday morning, Madame Roux’s bakery smelled of warm butter. On the counter, there was a special croissant, as big as a small moon. Madame Roux wanted to show it to a local newspaper. But at eight o’clock, the croissant had disappeared. Lucie, the neighbor, saw crumbs near the door. Tom, the delivery man, found a trail of flour to the park. Everyone began a very serious investigation. In the park, they discovered Oscar, the mail carrier’s dog. He was sleeping under a bench with a round belly. But he had not eaten the croissant. He only had a small ticket in his mouth. On the ticket, it said: “Best Croissant Contest, town hall.” Madame Roux laughed. Her husband had taken the croissant to the contest without telling anyone.
