What A1 grammar covers
A1 grammar is the mechanics of your first French sentences. You learn to pick le, la, l’ or les and to make adjectives agree with the noun they describe, so groups like la maison bleue come out right by habit. You conjugate the present tense of -er verbs and the four verbs no beginner sentence can avoid — être, avoir, aller and venir — then wrap any of them in ne … pas to say no. Subject pronouns tell you who does what, and prepositions of place (à, en, sur, chez) pin down where it happens. Work through the lessons in order or jump straight to the pattern that keeps tripping you up; each one ends with three examples you can check on the page.
