What C1 grammar covers
C1 grammar is about control of register and emphasis rather than new conjugations. The lessons work on advanced article choices, hedging language for softening claims (il semblerait que, dans une certaine mesure), and nominalization — turning verbs into nouns the way French formal prose constantly does. Cleft structures (c’est … qui, ce que … c’est) let you steer what a sentence highlights, while the negation lesson examines scope: what exactly ne … que restricts, and how negations stack. Register shifts, counter-argument framing (certes … mais) and parenthetical clauses finish the level. If you’re preparing DELF B2 or DALF C1 writing, these are the patterns examiners look for.
